With this thread being 13 years old, things 'may' have shifted a little...
Thake a look at this thread: Anyone running Alibre on a VM thru Linux?
The big issue is the .NET version used by Alibre; currently .NET Framework 4.8.1 - windows ONLY!
@Max suggests in the referenced thread that Alibre (maybe V28?) will be sifting to .NET Core - which is multiplatform compatible.
Alibre native on Linux
I would love to see Alibre run natively on Linux. By that I don't mean in Wine (which I'm no fan of) or a virtualmachine (Using Windows is something I'd love to get away from). Does Alibre have any plans to ever offer a Linux Version? More importantly, are there Alibre users out there that...

To quote @Max, from post# 12, in the thread linked above, dated July 20, 2010 (14 years ago):
I'll put it to rest There is absolutely no, as in 0%, chance we will ever make AD run natively on Linux. By ever, I mean within the next 15 years.
It sucks, I know, but it that's how it is.
Also, what was the last piece of software you purchased for Linux?
So, if i'm working out the math correctly, he said 15 years. That was 14 years ago. We're almost there guys. Be patient! I've got a Thinkpad all set up with a copy of Debian and ready to go, in about a year!
